Department Action

This is to request acceptance of the FY 2017 TXDOT DWI No Refusal Mandatory Blood Draw Program Grant Award of $55,380.00. The term of this award is October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. The grant provides funding for healthcare professionals to assist law-enforcement personnel in DWI enforcement. A budget of $69,335.00 was established, and it includes a Collin County matching contribution of $13,955.00 match. This match is in-kind provided from portions of the District Attorney and Auditor’s office salaries and benefits of those administering/assisting with the program. Professional service agreement amendments, to be executed prior to start of the contract term, will provide for the professional health-care blood draw services.

DWI No Refusal Mandatory Blood Draw Program for the DA’s Office. Grant pays for 2 nurses to do blood draws at the local jails. Grant funding requested is $55,380 with a mandatory in-kind match of $13,954.44 to be made with existing personnel from the Auditor's Office as well as the District Attorney's Office. Grant period is October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017.

Grant application had been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Grant acceptance of $55,380 in state funds with a required in kind match of $13,954.44. The grant period is from 10/1/2016 through 9/30/2017.
