Department Action

Attached for approval is the FY2019 Inter-Local Application and budget for DSHS TB State funds for the one year grant period 9/1/2018-8/31/2019 in the amount of $152,828 to support our county’s TB prevention and control activities. The County match required for the funding is $30,566 and will be met by using existing employee personnel salaries. Due to the grant application deadline being 2/20/2018, the application was submitted to DSHS in a timely manner and needs ratification. CCHCS is striving to reduce the spread of TB, which is a communicable disease spread through the air. TB state funds assist local health departments in accomplishing activities to prevent and eliminate Tuberculosis in our communities. Collin County Health Care Services (CCHCS) plans to use the DSHS TB state funds towards the salaries of four TB Program staff members, including a nurse case manager, contact investigator, outreach worker, and medical assistant. Other program costs such as mileage, travel for training, and medical supplies are included in the budget for state funding.

Grant includes personnel, training, medical and office supplies, as well as a contract Pharmacist and T-Spot lab testing. Grant period is September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant application reviewed by grant review committee as per attached. Application for State grant funds in the amount of $152,828 with a required county match of $30,566. Match is in kind. Grant to reduce the risk of communicable disease (TB) in the community through the TB elimination program as required in TAC Sections 97.2-97.8. The grant period is from 9/1/2018 through 8/31/2019.
