Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney will donate $6,500 from the District Attorney State Forfeiture Fund to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County (“CACCC”).

This donation is authorized by Texas law. Article 59.06(d-2) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure states in part that “an attorney representing the state may use as an official purpose of the agency … to make a donation to an entity that assists in … the detection, investigation, or prosecution of … criminal offenses … or instances of abuse ….” The CACCC’s purpose and work fits within the plain words of the statute.
