Information
Department Action
 State law requires that each local emergency management program meet certain requirements.  These requirements include maintaining an Emergency Management Plan, conduct required emergency training for staff, develop and conduct an exercise program, and maintain certain emergency facilities and equipment.  Collin County is currently meeting these requirements.
 
The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) is a program to provide federal funding to the local jurisdictions to develop and carry out emergency management programs.  We are requesting permission from the Commissioners’ Court to apply for this grant.
 
Collin County has received this grant for the last ten years.

FY 2018 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Renewal in the amount of $89,799.47 with an in-kind match of $89,799.46 for a program total of $179,598.93. Grant will fund a portion of the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator’s salary and benefits as well as training. Grant period is October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018.
Auditor's Office Action
Grant application has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Federal funds in the amount of $89,799.46 with a required county match of $89,799.47. Grant funds will only pay for PTO and Comp time taken that has been earned in the grant period. Grantor will not pay for buyout time not earned within the grant period.  Any time paid for PTO or comp time earned from prior years, or receiving a buyout for time earned in prior years, will have to be funded 100% by county funds and are not reimbursed by the grantor.  The grant period is 10/1/2017 through 9/30/2018.
