Department Action

Upon approval of a FY2018 PIP to replace 55 rooftop HVAC units, it is my recommendation to amend the Construction Standards, Court Order No. 2010-993-12-06, to allow for the addition of a Preferred Manufacturer, Carrier ICP AC Systems, specifically for the 900 and 920 Buildings in Plano.

This type of unit is compatible with our current Carrier I-Vu Energy Management Control System. Carrier I-Vu is the software program that runs and communicates with our existing energy management system in the Plano Facilities and will alleviate the need for additional hardware and software; and will allow Facilities to maintain an inventory of parts.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding the approval to amend the Construction Standards originally approved by Court Order #2010-993-12-06, to add Carrier ICP AC Systems as a preferred manufacturer specifically for 900 and 920 Buildings in Plano.(see attached memo) Equipment is available from multiple distributors and is competitive. Purchases will be made in accordance with Purchasing policies and procedures.
