Re: Elections Department - AT&T Control Center – Cellular Data Plan Process Change

The Information Technology Department would like to inform Commissioner’s Court on behalf Elections Department that a new process has been put in place for Mi-fi and Gobi card suspension/activation. The reason why the new process was put in place by AT&T is because the option for suspension/activation was removed from the DIR contract. In order to meet their new process change the Information Technology Department is required to purchase an AT&T Control Center with one-time fee of $500.00. With this control center in place, now IT will have the ability to place Election lines on a “penny suspension” plan at their determination instead of waiting on vendor to complete the request. This will aide in quicker process time by not having to wait for the vendor to complete request. The current price of data lines has not changed due to this process change. Please see attached document for current data line charges.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding approval of the Participating Addendum Under the NASPO Valuepoint Wireless Communication Services and Equipment Bid Number RFP #1907 with AT&T National Mobility Accounts LLC, per VTCA Local Government Code 271.102, and authorize Purchasing Agent to execute same. This contract will be used for mifi services and allow the County to suspend services for Elections devices when not in use. sh
