Department Action

I am requesting the court to approve expenditures from the JP1 Court Technology Fund for Adobe Software Full Version and Encryption Software for the two magistration clerks and court administrator.

The Adobe Software will help to create fillable pdf forms which are used with the jail magistration packets and court orders. It will allow clerks the flexibility to create and delete documents in the jail magistration current software.

David McCurdy has stated the cost for the Adobe full version is now 3 payments of $66.00. He said our department only has to pay the initial $66 and then maintenance will pick up the next two years.

The Encryption software is requested for the two magistration clerks. They email the Judges criminal histories every morning in the jail magistration packet. The DPS requirement is that all criminal histories have to be sent encrypted. The cost for Encryption Software is $100 each.

No action by Purchasing at this time, if approved purchasing policies and procedures will apply.

HR and/or IT Action

IT work with JP1 to make sure all requirements are meet and recommends this request.

Budget Department Action

Funds available in the Justice of the Peace Court Technology Fund in the amount of $332 for the purchase of two Adobe Pro licenses and two licenses for encryption software for the magistration clerks. Adobe Pro licenses will cost the County $132 per year in maintenance going forward starting in FY 2019. JP Court Technology (028).
