Department Action

This is to request Commissioners Court acceptance of the FY2020 FY2021 contract for DSHS RLSS/LPHS funds for the two-year grant period 9/1/2019-8/31/2021 in the amount of $43,278. The purpose of the RLSS/LPHS funds is to support efforts by local health departments in addressing public health issues, including those related to Tuberculosis.

Collin County Health Care Services (CCHCS) plans to use the DSHS funds towards the salary for the Tuberculosis (TB) Program Manager. The objective to be achieved in using the RLSS/LPHS funds is that the TB Program will be able to provide directly observed therapy (DOT) to patients at their home, work, and at our clinic setting. By providing DOT services, CCHCS is striving to reduce the spread of TB, which is a communicable disease spread through the air.
