Department Action

Attached for approval is an Amendment for FY 2019 and the contract renewal for FY 2020 with Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling. The program is meant to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children, identified to be at nutritional risk. The WIC services are 100% funded by HHSC.

The renewal contract term will be 10/1/2019 thru 09/30/2020. The total amount of this contract is $6,036.721.00 of which $1,528,509.00 was allocated to FY2017, $1,527,258.00 allocated to FY2018, $1,489,617.00 amended for FY2019, and $1,491,377 ito be allocated for FY2020.

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding approval of FY19 Amendment (Budget) and FY20 renewal to WIC Contract 2017-049828-001 from the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and authorize County Judge to execute. sh

DSHS FY 2020 WIC Grant Contract Renewal in the amount of $1,491,377.00 in state funds with no county match required. Grant term is September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2020. Budgeted funds available with the elimination of one (1) vacant position. Please see attached spreadsheet for eliminated position. (2108)-HC Grants Fund.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant review committee has reviewed the grant renewal contract as per attached. Grant contract for $1,491,377 in federal funds. Grant period is 10/1/2019 through 9/30/2020.

Commissioners Court

Amendment with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for Contract No. 2017-049828-001, Amendment No. 3: Women, Infant and Children's (WIC) Nutrition Local Agency Grant to accept the FY 2020 grant award and further extend the contract through and including August 31, 2020, Health Care.
