Department Action

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office respectfully request Commissioners Court approval to apply for the FY2019 Southwest Border Rural Law Enforcement Information Sharing & Interdiction Assistance Grants. The performance period for the grant is October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2021, with a grant deadline of July 2, 2019. We are requesting $153,144 in grant funding with no county match required.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court approval to apply for grant for FY19 Southwest Border Rural Law Enforcement Information Sharing and Interdiction Assistance from the US Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs and authorize County Judge to execute same. sh
Purchasing policies and procedures will apply.

FY 2019 Southwest Border Rural Law Enforcement Information Sharing and Interdiction Assistance Grant in the amount of $153,144 in federal funds with no county match required. Funding to be used to purchase a fully equipped and marked patrol vehicle with license plate reader to support the disruption of drug and drug related crimes as well as human trafficking. Equipment maintenance will be the responsibility of the county. Write up mentions interdiction training of an additional officer, but training is not requested in the grant. Grant period is October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2021.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant application reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Federal grant funds in the amount of $146,795 with no county match required. Grant for Equipment (fully equipped and marked patrol vehicle with license plate reader) to support disruption of drug / drug-related crimes and human smuggling / trafficking. Grant period is 10/1/2019 through 9/30/2021.
