Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney will use up to $1,500 from the District Attorney Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund (Fund 1037) to host, in conjunction with the Plano Police Department, a Search Warrant Writing class on August 19, 2019, for law enforcement officers and prosecuting attorneys. The funds will cover fees, expenses, and materials. The training will provide TCOLE (peace officer) and MCLE (attorney) continuing education credit.

This use of Fund 1037 is authorized by Texas law. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 59.06 (d-4)(4), specifically authorizes expenditures for “conferences and training expenses.” This expenditure fits within the plain words of the statute.
