Department Action

Request approval to establish a budget in fund 1031 (Economic Development) in the amount of $55,000 for FY 2020. The Economic Development 2001 Fund was created in FY 2001 to account for funds received from the State of Texas Comptroller due to capital credits received from electric cooperative corporations reported to the Comptroller as unclaimed property. The Comptroller distributes these funds to counties after a request is made in accordance with Chapter 381 of the LGC. These funds are restricted to be used to stimulate business and commercial activity by developing and administering a program as listed by Chapter 381-004 of the Local Government Code or to support a child advocacy center as allowed in Chapter 381.004(f) of the LGC. Upon approval, a check will be presented to the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center on a future court.

Budget Department Action

A check was received from the state in September 2019 and funding for the Children's Advocacy Center was not included in the FY 2020 budget. Funds were deposited in fund 1031 per LGC 381.004. Request to establish a budget for fund 1031 for FY 2020 in order for a check to be issued to the Children's Advocacy Center on a future court date. This will be the 10th check for Collin County to issue to the Children's Advocacy Center from these funds. Funding available per attached journal proof..
