Department Action

I am asking the Commissioners Court to accept the District Attorney Forensic Evidence Testing Grant FY2020. I was notified, on Friday, February 28, 2020, that our grant application was accepted in the full amount requested. The grant period runs from September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2020. This grant will be used to fund quantitative THC testing for seized cannabis samples. This grant will help eliminate the backlog of untested cannabis cases, created by the new testing requirements in recently passed legislation (HB1325).

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to accept grant award of the FY2020 Forensic Evidence Testing Grant from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division and authorize County Judge to execute same. sh
