Requesting Commissioners' Court consideration and approval for 2 new patrol positions that are currently in contingency in FY2018 budget. The funding sources for those positions (Blue Ridge, Nevada, Seis Lagos & St. Paul) have not entered into an agreement. The deputies are an integral part of the Patrol Reallocation Plan.

Request for Commissioners' Court authorization to create 2 new patrol positions in Sheriff's Office-Admin department (001-5001) budgeted in contingency for FY 2018. 001 - General Fund
Three patrol positions were budgeted in contingency pending approval of ILAs from various entities. They are as follows:
Deputy #1: 25% shared by Lowery Crossing (ILA approved 9/11/2017), New Hope (ILA approved 9/18/2017), St. Paul (No ILA), and Nevada (No ILA).
Deputy #2: 50% shared by Trinity Falls (ILA approved 9/11/2017), and Blue Ridge (no ILA)
Deputy #3: 50% shared by Inspiration Point (ILA approved 11/6/2017) and Seis Lagos (No ILA).
Option 1 - No Action.
Option 2 - Approve creation of 2 new positions without a budget amendment. Funding for positions will be from savings of open positions during FY 2018.
Option 3 - Approve creation of 2 new positions and budget amendment to move 6 months of budgeted funding from contingency to Sheriff's Office - Admin department. Budget amendment attached in the amount of $257,162 for two Deputy positions currently budgeted in Non Departmental Program Contingency. The salary and benefits are prorated for the remaining 6 months of FY 2018. 001 - General Fund
