Department Action
The Collin County District Attorney will donate $5,000.00 from the District Attorney State Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund (Fund 1037) to the Texas District and County Attorneys Foundation (TDCAF), whose mission is to provide educational and technical assistance to prosecutors and their staffs. Per TDCAF policy, these donated funds are dedicated 100% to training, and not a single dollar is spent on overhead or other expenses.
This use of the State Forfeiture Fund is authorized by Texas law. Article 59.06 (d-2) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure authorizes donations to an entity that assists in the provision of training or education related to the detection, investigation, or prosecution of criminal offenses.
