Department Action

Health Care is requesting acceptance of the FY2021-2025 Disease Intervention Specialist Workforce grant contract from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). The application for this grant was approved on December 6, 2021, Agenda Item #51335.

The contract start date has been adjusted by DSHS with a new effective date March 1, 2022 through August 31, 2022 for the award amount of $352,158.00. Attached is an approved budget for this term. No county match is required.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Health Care Foundation Board consideration and any action regarding approval to accept grant from Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) in the amount of $352,158 with no County match required and authorize Board President to execute same. The grant period is March 1, 2022 through August 31, 2022. gz

HR and/or IT Action

DIS Workforce Grant personnel funding for salary and benefits totaling $226,388 is sufficient to cover salary and benefits for five new positions, including 4 epidemiologists and a program coordinator, from 3/1/2022-8/31/2022.

Budget Department Action

Request to award the FY 2021-2025 Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) Workforce Grant in the amount of $352,158 in federal funds with no county match. Grant provides funding for salary and benefits for 5 new positions for 6 months at 100%. Funding also includes training, supplies and equipment. County will be responsible for maintaining the equipment. Grant period is March 1, 2022 through August 31, 2022.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant application had been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Grant award of federal funds in the amount of $352,158 with no county match required. Grant period is March 1, 2022 through August 31, 2022.
