Attached for approval is the FY 2024 - FY 2025 renewal acceptance for Texas DSHS RLSS/LPHS funds for the two-year grant period 9/1/2023-8/31/2025 in the amount of $43,278. The purpose of the RLSS/LPHS funds is to support efforts by local health departments in addressing public health issues, including those related to Tuberculosis (TB). Collin County Health Care Services (CCHCS) plans to use the DSHS funds towards a portion of Salary and Fringe benefits for a Registered Nurse to serve as the Tuberculosis (TB) Program Manager.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to apply for the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) RLSS/LPHS grant in the amount of $43,278 with no County match required, and authorize County Judge to execute same. The grant period is September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2025. gz

Services System (RLSS)/Local Public Health Services (LPHS) grant period is 9/1/2023 –
8/31/2025. Grant covers 16% of current Nurse (RN) employee’s salary and fringe for 24
months. Amount budgeted is $43,278. Amount estimated is $43,633.44. Difference is minimal.

Funding to cover existing RN position (no increase to headcount) funded at 16%. Amount is for a two-year contract term. Grant period is September 1, 2023 - August 31, 2025.

Grant award of combined Federal and State funds for $43,278 with no county match required per the contract. Grant only funds personnel at 16%, so the balance of the position is to be covered by general healthcare funds. Grant period is September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2025.
