Department Action

Attached for approval is the WIC contract funding for FY 2024 with Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling. The program is meant to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children, identified to be at nutritional risk. The WIC services are 100% funded by HHSC.

The funding amount for 10/1/2023 through 09/30/2024 is a total of $1,707,811.

Request Health Care Foundation Board consideration and any action regarding approval to accept the Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) grant funds for $1,707,811 with no County match required. The grant period is October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024. gz
