Attached is the FY 2024 renewal application for DSHS DIS Workforce Grant funds for a grant period that will begin January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The FY24 award amount totals to $704,317.00. No county match is required.

Request Health Care Foundation consideration and any action regarding approval to renew the application for the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) workforce grant for $704,317 with no County match required, and further authorize Board President to execute same. The grant period is January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. gz

FY 2024 renewal application for DSHS DIS Workforce Grant funds for a grant period that will begin January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024. The FY24 award amount totals to $704,317.00, including $562,814 for salary and fringe for five (5) current employees and positions. (One (1) Program Coordinator #00300578 Emeka Ohagi and four (4) Epidemiologists #00300582 Teresa Stelling, #00300581 Jessica Woods, #00300579 Musa Khan, and #00300580 Olivia Jones) No increase to headcount. Amount budgeted in grant for salary and fringe exceeds current estimate of salary and fringe for this time period. No county match is required.

Budget Department Action

FY2024 Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) Workforce Grant Award in the amount of $704,317 in level funding. Department utilizing operating funds to offset salary and benefit increases. Grant funds to cover four (4) existing Epidemiologist grant positions and one (1) Program Coordinator grant position (no increase to headcount) estimated at 100% as well as training, travel, supplies and other program costs. Grade, title and salary of positions are subject to HR approval. Grant period is January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. State grant funds in the amount of $704,317 with no county match required. Grant funds 5 positions at 100% plus maintenance and operating costs. Grant period is 1/1/2024 through 12/31/2024.
