Department Action

The Engineering Department requests consideration of the proposed Amendment No. 5 to the contract with BGE, Inc. for engineering services relating to the CCOL from FM 2478 to SH 75. TxDOT’s Dallas District Bridge Engineer informed BGE that the District has recently been experiencing cracking in bridge decks during construction and with no traffic loading. TxDOT recently issued a Dallas District standard with revised reinforcement. Amendment No. 5 will cover the additional work necessary to modify the current bridge slab design and include the latest TxDOT Dallas District standards in the details of the final plans. The changes will be incorporated in both Honey Creek and East Fort Trinity River crossings. The amendment will also cover the additional work needed to design the relocation of an existing 2” water line.

BGE’s scope of work and detailed breakdown of their proposed fees is attached. The contract total will be increased by $29,556.00. BGE’s new contract amount will be $4,686,472.22. Funds are available in RI18OL002-4021-750300013-809250.

The Engineering Department would also like to transfer $28.00 from within the same RI18OL002 project code to pay for the last easements on this project.

Recommended Action: It is requested that Commissioners Court
-Approve the attached Amendment No. 5 and a budget increase of $29,556.00.
-Approve the budget transfer to purchase that last easements in the amount of $28.00:

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of Amendment No. 5 to the contract with BGE, Inc., AGR 2020-049, Collin County Outer Loop Segment 3A Access Road from FM 2478 to US 75, to: 1). cover the additional work necessary to modify the current bridge slab design and include the latest TxDOT Dallas District standards in the details of the final plans; and 2). cover the additional work needed to design the relocation of an existing 2” water line. The contract total will be increased by $29,556.00 for a new total contract amount of $4,686,472.22. Further, authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute same. ED
