Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to apply for US Justice Departments Office of Justice program for the bulletproof vest grant for $538,918.88 with a required in-kind 50% match of up to $538,918.88. The grant period is April 24, 2024 through September 30, 2026. gz.

FY 2024 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant with a maximum eligible amount of $538,918.88 in Federal Funds with a 50% required County match of $538,918.88. Total budget is $1,077,837.76. Grant term is April 24, 2024 through September 30, 2026.

Auditor's Office Action

Federal grant from the US Justice Departments Office of Justice Programs to receive funding for the purchase of life saving body armor. The maximum award we are eligible for is $538,918.88 with a 50% match of up to $538,918.88 required from Collin County. Per OJP guidelines, there are no issues of supplanting if we apply and receive this grant and also budget for vests in our county budget. Grant period is April 24, 2024 through September 30, 2026. Grant application has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached.
