Department Action

Collin County entered into a lease Agreement with the Department of the Army for a Radio Control Airfield site at Bratonia Park in December of 1994. This agreement had a twenty-five (25) year term and expired on November 30, 2019.

We began working with the Corp to get this lease renewed for an additional twenty-five (25) year period in May of 2018. The Corp recently delivered the renewal agreement to us for Commissioners Court’s consideration and approval.

To provide some history, Collin County entered into an Operations and Maintenance (Sublease) Agreement with the Richardson Radio Control Club (RRCC) in August of 1996 – (Commissioners Court Order No. 96-528-08-26) and since then the RRCC has been responsible for all improvements, operations, maintenance, planning and reporting.

If Commissioners Court approves renewal of the attached lease agreement with the Corp an updated Sublease Agreement with RRCC is also required. (Attached)

Action:

Request approval by Commissioners Court of the Lease Agreement DACW63-1-20-0604 with the Corps and execution of two (2) copies; and
Request approval of the Sublease Agreement with the RRCC along with the execution of three (3) copies.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding 1.) approval of a lease agreement between the Department of the Army and Collin County concerning lease to non-state governmental agencies for public park and recreational purposes, Collin County Radio Control Airfield, Bratonia Park at Lavon Lake, TX, for a 25-year period commencing on August 1, 2020 and continuing through and including July 21, 2045, and 2.) approval of a sublease agreement between Collin County and Richardson Radio Control Club for Collin County Radio Control Airfield, Bratonia Park, Lavon Lake, TX. Further, authorize the County Judge to execute both. MD
