Department Action

We received a written request from The Copeville Special Utility District (SUD) asking to purchase a portion of the unimproved right of way along First Street, Second Street, Third Street, North Street and Williams Street adjacent to and surrounded by lots that the SUD owns. Other than a driveway to the Coperville SUD water tower, none of the portions of the rights of way, that are included in this request for purchase, are improved streets.

I have discussed this situation with Mr. Kleinheksel and neither of us see an issue with the County allowing the Copeville SUD to purchase these unimproved street right-of-ways.

The purchaser understands that they are responsible for all costs associated with this transaction.

ACTION:
We request Commissioners Court’s authorization to proceed with the sale of unimproved street right-of-way as described as Tract 3: First Street and Tract 4: Second Street, Third Street, North Street and Williams Street.
