Department Action

The Engineering Department requests that the contract with Jacobs Engineering for services related to the Collin County Outer Loop Access Road be adjusted for additional construction services necessary for inspection and administration. The Outer Loop project duration has been affected by utility delays and bad weather days causing this project to extend beyond the original completion date of June 17, 2021. The proposed completion is scheduled for the end of September 2021. This has created the need for additional inspection services to cover the extended construction duration. Jacobs’ detailed breakdown of their proposed fees are attached.

Amendment No. 5 results in a net contract increase of $61,499.60. The new total of the contract will be $2,202,344.17.

Action:
It is requested that the Commissioners Court approve Contract Amendment No. 5 with Jacobs Engineering for Outer Loop Access Road (Limits from DNT and SH 289) increasing the contract by $61,499.60, for a new contract total of $2,202,344.17, and authorize execution by the County Judge.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of contract amendment No. 5 to the contract with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., AGR 2015-107, Professional Services, Engineering, Preparation of final plans, specifications and estimates (PS & E) for the Collin County Outer Loop, Segment 3A (Dallas North Toll Way to East of SH 289), to provide for additional construction inspection and construction administration services due to delays in utility relocation at SH 289, City of Celina Fire Hydrants, and Oncor overhead electric line in the amount of $61,499.60 and a new total contract amount of $2,202,344.17. Further, authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute same. MD
