Department Action

Commissioners Court approved $2 million in Open Space Funding for this year’s funding cycle. The Parks Foundation Advisory Board reviewed sixteen (16) project application and recommended award of $2,384,510. The additional $384,510 is available in 2007 Open Space Bond Account, 07OS and Open Space Discretionary Account, 18DISC.

As in years past, priority was given to land acquisition, region trail connectors or trail projects and capital improvement projects for open space, in that order.

The Applicants listed on the attached spreadsheet submitted requests to the Collin County Parks Foundation Advisory Board for available 2018 Open Space Bond funds. This spreadsheet gives a brief description of each applicant’s project, their estimated total project cost, the amount of funding requested and proposed funding as recommended by the Parks Foundation Advisory Board.

It is requested that the Commissioners Court authorize the award of the sixteen (16) projects and approve the budget adjustments to fulfill the funding recommendations.

Budget Amendments included to fund recommended projects.
