Department Action

Contract renewal for Dr. James Shupe. This request is to renew the current contract for Dr. James Shupe @$6000.00 per month for Mental Health Hearings and $250.00 per patient seen in the Collin County Detention Center. This expedites the inmate having access to psychoactive medications in a more timely manner. Dr. Shupe provides written Certificates of Medical Examination, evaluates patients, reviews medical records and determines the need or lack of need for Court Ordered Psychoactive Medications.
Our Court is required by the Health & Safety Code to have physician testimony at all final commitment hearings.
