Department Action

The Commissioners Court Approved an Interlocal Agreement with McKinney Municipal Utility District No. 1 and No. 2 on February 13, 2017 that allows for the extension of the County’s traffic regulations within the Districts.

Within that ILA, we included the speed limits, parking restrictions and other traffic regulations such as stop signs to Planning Units #1 and #2 within the Districts. The ILA allows for the addition of Planning Units without the amendment of the original ILA so the County is now ready to extend similar regulations to Planning Unit 3 (which includes McKinney ISD Elementary #22), 7 and 8 within the Municipal Utility Districts. Copies of the signage plans are attached.

If approved, Collin County would regulate maximum, reasonable and prudent speeds, restricted traffic zones, parking restrictions, school zones and any other traffic regulations necessary for the preservation of public safety.

Recommended Action: It is requested that the Commissioners Court hold a public hearing for the placement of Regulatory Signs within the McKinney Municipal Utility Districts No. 1 and No. 2 (Trinity Falls) for Planning Units 3, 7 and 8. At the conclusion of the Public Hearing, we recommend approval of the placement of the signs as depicted in the attached signage plans.
