The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the Commissioners Court of a budget amendment for the purpose of utilizing $27,311.00 of Federal Forfeiture Funds to a salary line item for FY 2021.

HR and/or IT Action

Sheriff’s Office is requesting approval for the continuation of increased salaries for Deputy Mark Spears and Deputy Duane Cortes assigned to the Federal Homeland Security task force in FY2021. Deputy Mark Spears and Deputy Duane Cortes will receive an additional annual salary over the fiscal year as outlined in the salary breakdown attachment. Also, the Sheriff’s Office is requesting a budget amendment transfer of Federal Forfeiture Funds to fund the salaries of 2 deputy sheriffs in the Professional Standards Section, who are replacing Spears and Cortes while they are assigned to the HSI task force.

Budget Department Action

Requesting approval to continue 2 Deputy Sheriff's increased salaries. Sheriff's Office is also transfering Federal Forfeiture funds to help fund the salaries of two Professional Standards deputies that will be replacing the two deputies that have been assigned to the Federal Task Force. Budget Amendment attached totaling $27,311 from the Sheriff's Federal Forfeiture Fund (1065).
