The Engineering Department requests approval of Contract Amendment #4 with BGE, Inc. Amendment #4 includes:
FM 546 Phase I:
- Test holes for utility investigation and tree clearing for geotechnical work was less than what was scoped. The fee from these reduced tasks will serve as a credit in the amount of $108,669.64 to the overall supplemental.
FM 546 Phase II:
- Adds additional traffic analysis and alternatives analysis at the request of TxDOT for the intersection of FM 546 with future SP 399.
- Moves fees between previously contracted tasks/subconsultants to align with the actual work completed. These fees will cover projected work that is anticipated to extend the contract an additional 5 months due to TxDOT design coordination and to gain environmental clearance.
- BGE is requesting labor rate increases to keep up with the market adjustments. This results in a 1.3% increase based on the total contract fee.
- The total amount for this additional scope is $374,411.41.
With the credit from Ph. I, the total proposed fee for Amendment #4 is $265,741.77 for a contract total of $6,421,982.97.
Recommended Action: It is requested that the Commissioners Court:
- Approve contract Amendment #4 for Professional Engineering Services with BGE, Inc. for the FM 546 Project increasing the contract by $265,741.77, for a new contract total of $6,421,982.97.
- Approve the budget adjustment to move funds that are available in Project Code RI18005CO to the approporate expenditure account.
