If the County were to propose a tax rate above the Voter-Approval Rate we would need to adopt the tax rate no later than the 71st day before the next uniform election date per Tax Code 26.05(a). Two options are provided for court consideration.

Option 1: Adopt August 22nd. This is 78 days before next uniform election date.
Option 2: Adopt August 29th. This is 71 days before next uniform election date. This is a 5th Monday. Adopt budget prior to holiday.
Option 3: Adopt September 12th. August 29th is a 5th Monday. This puts budget adoption after 2 weeks of no court meeting.
