Department Action

The Juvenile Probation Department seeks to apply for a grant from the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division for Specialty Courts. Grant funding will be used to support operations for the Juvenile Probation Mental Health Court which will provide case management, community-based treatment, and support services in partnership with the County’s designated mental health authority for program participants suffering with mental illness. The grant request is for $216,155.00 and requires no County match.

HR and/or IT Action

FY 2023 Specialty Courts Grant for the Juvenile Probation Mental Health Court funds are to cover 1 existing JPO position and 1 new JPO position for total of two personnel at a total of $148,308.00. Grant period is September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023.

Budget Department Action

Specialty Courts Grant Program FY2023 for one (1) new position (addition to headcount by 1) at 535 grade funded at 100% and one (1) existing position (no increase to headcount) at grade 535 funded at 100%. Grant funding to also cover treatment services, training and travel as well as computer equipment and supplies. No county match required. Grade, title and salary of new position are subject to HR approval upon grant award. Grant period is September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023.

Auditor's Office Action

Provide services to Juvenile.Diversion program for mentally ill or intellectual defendants that need services as an alternative to subjecting those defendants to the criminal justice system. State funds in the amount of $216,155 with no required county match. Grant period is 9/1/2022 through 8/31/2023.
