Department Action

A thoroughfare has been added in a new development in the City of Lavon that does not conform to the County’s Plan. We were made aware of this change when it was contemplated by the City and we have no objection. The City of Lavon has requested that we make this change to the County’s Plan because it will be of some assistance to them in their funding options. We actually feel this will be a better alignment of thoroughfares in this area than is currently on our Plan. We have attached a drawing of the proposed change.

Since the Engineering Department staff concurs with this change we advertised for the required Public Hearing for the Court’s consideration of this change.

Requested Action: It is recommended that the Commissioners Court hold a public hearing for the proposed revision to the Collin County Thoroughfare and Transit Plan. If there are no comments at the hearing that would cause reconsideration, it is recommended that the Commissioners Court approve the revision.
