Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney is requesting Commissioners Court acceptance of the FY2023 General Victim Assistance Grant. The grant period is October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023.

HR and/or IT Action

FY 2023 General Victim Assistance Grant in the amount of $71,597 to fund salary and benefits for a current, full time District Attorney’s Crime Victim Assistance Coordinator position. Grant amount is not sufficient for the full amount for a vacant or current Victim Assistance Coordinator salary. At this time, the Auditor's office as reported that a Legal Secretary II (Shaunette Bronson) will be funded by the grant. Amount granted is not sufficient for their salary and fringe based on the grant benefits calculator. The amount of DA funds needed to supplement the salary and benefits cost will depend on the Victim Assistance Coordinator or alternate employee chosen to be covered by this grant.

Budget Department Action

FY 2023 General Victim Assistance Grant award for 1 existing position (no increase to headcount) at grade 535 funded at 97% if position is filled at grade minimum. District Attorney to cover additional salary and fringe with DA Special Funds. Salary subject to HR approval. Grant period is October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant award of federal funds in the amount of $71,597 with no county match required. Grant period is October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. Grant application had been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached.
