Department Action

The Commissioners Court on December 6, 2021, declared Jacobs Engineering Inc. the most qualified engineering firm to design the above mentioned segment due to their extensive experience in designing the first service road in this segment, which is a mirror of the proposed service road. After discussions with the City of Celina, the North Texas Tollway Authority and Denton County, it has been concluded that the scope of this project should include the segments of the service roads on both sides of the Outer Loop west of the Dallas North Tollway. The fee for this scope has been negotiated, resulting in a proposed fee of $2,203,755.94. The early estimate of construction cost of this project is $50,000,000. Funds for this design are available; however, a Budget Adjustment is needed to move the funds from the construction object code to a newly created consultant object code within the same project. Action Requested: It is requested that the Commissioners Court approve the attached engineering services agreement with Jacobs Engineering Inc. to prepare the construction plans for the second service road of the Outer Loop from Legacy Drive to East of Choate and Legacy Drive to Huddleston. It is further requested that the Court approve a budget adjustment as follows: $2,503,953.70 From RI18OL001-4215-750300013- 809280 To RI18OL001-4215-750300013- 809250.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of a scope and fee from Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. for the design of the Collin County Outer Loop Service Road Segment 3A from Legacy Drive East of Choate Parkway and Legacy Drive to Huddleston Drive for the amount of $2,203,755.94 and budget adjustment for same. Further, authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute the engineering services agreement. MD

Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. was designated as the most qualified firm to provide these services per CO# 2021-1206-12-06.
