Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to apply for Office of the Governor (OAG) grant for Veteran's Substance Abuse Treatment program for $290,434 with a $72,608.50 County in-kind match required, and authorize County Judge to execute same. The grant period is September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024. gz

HR and/or IT Action

Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Grant Program appears to be covering a new Detention Officer position at 551 salary grade. (Increase to headcount) Using the min for this grade, an estimated $77,746 would be needed to fund this position. If a candidate is chosen that qualifies for 5% over min, the salary and fringe estimate would increase to $80,720.00.

Budget Department Action

Grant application in the amount of $290,434 with a required County in-kind match of $72,608.50. Grant application includes two (2) existing contract positions and the creation of one new position (addition to headcount by 1) at grade 551 funded at 100% if hired at minimum of pay grade. Grades, titles, and salaries are subject to HR approval upon grant award. In addition to personnel, grant will cover contractual and professional services, travel and training, and other supplies and direct operating expenses. Grant period is September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant application has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Grant to provide services for veterans withing local corrections and detention facilities. Grant period is September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024. Grant funds in the amount of $290,434 with a required match in the amount of $72,608.50. Match can be in-kind. .
