HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM
In 2008, Collin County created its first Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) to comply with Federal and State regulations. With the help of our consultant, Jacobs Engineering Group, the engineering department developed a SWMP that consists of a series of Best Management Practices (BMPs), measurable goals and an implementation schedule. We submitted the first Storm Water Management Plan and Notice of Intent (NOI) to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) on February 11, 2008.

In July 2019, we submitted our Third Term Program Renewal to TCEQ, which extended our permit for another 5 years (2019-2023).

PRESENTLY
The fourth year of the most recent permit term (Term 3) was from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022. The Engineering department staff has monitored the 2022 activities with the help of other county departments. With the help of Jacobs, we will prepare the 2023 report that details the year 2022 activities and submit to TCEQ by March 31, 2023.

Total cost for the proposed engineering consultant services are $30,000.00

The term four, year three report (2023 report for Year 2022 activities) will be brought back to court for approval and subsequent submittal to TCEQ.
