Department Action

The courts are requesting creation of an emergency temporary position effective 8/15/22-9/1/22 to allow the current Court Administrator, Ms. Alvarado, time to train her replacement before her 9/1/22 resignation date. Because Ms. Alvarado is the sole individual in court administration, there are no other county employees with the current job knowledge and skills to do this training, and the courts will be negatively impacted by the absence of overlap in this position. It should be noted that a key factor in Ms. Alvarado's resignation is the weight of the workload for this position and the fact that her job responsibilities extend to 20+ courts, an issue that the judges hope will be addressed during this budget cycle.

HR and/or IT Action

Court Administrator is in pay grade 518. If a new hire is hired for this position at min, the starting salary would be $85,429 ($116,407.95 with fringe cost). If an existing employee is hired to transfer into this position, the salary and fringe would have to be calculated on this individual existing salary before or after PFP increases (if approved and eligible). If approved, the cost of this position would vary on the candidate chosen and the amount of pay periods between hire date and 9/1/2022.
