Department Action

Attached for acceptance is a DSHS no-cost extension to the IDCU-COVID grant. This amendment extends the end of the contract term to July 31, 2026. This extension will allow Collin County Health Care Services to continue funding existing personnel which perform critical COVID-19 response and program activities. There is no change to the total award amount which remains at $1,026,626.00.

Collin County Health Care Services requests approval of this grant extension and the use of existing Health Care department funds to support the personnel on this grant. Existing Health Care funds will be used to purchase items for staff that are critical for department operations but are not allowable to be purchased with grant funds, which are an estimated total cost of $500/year.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to accept the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) no-cost extension to the IDCU/COVID-19 grant to extend contract term to July 31, 2026 and authorize Board President to execute same. gz

HR and/or IT Action

Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. HHS000812700014 IDCU/COVID Grant is noted as a no cost extension with no additional funding being awarded. Grant is to cover three existing Epidemiologist positions from 6/24/24 to 9/24/24 according to the attached Grant Personnel Form. Note that the attached Budget indicates four Epidemiologist positions, however Healthcare confirms three positions will remain on the grant. Budget notes no County funds are budgeted for any items not covered by this grant. Based on current salaries, the calculation amount for salary and fringe for these three personnel as shown on Grant Personnel Form is sufficient for three months with no increases. Position numbers attached to this grant are 00300490, 00300471 and 00300469.

Budget Department Action

Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. HHS000812700014 IDCU/COVID Grant for a no-cost extension. No additional funding is awarded with this extension. Auditor’s Office to monitor grant funds for the extended term to cover four (4) existing Epidemiologist grant positions, travel, supplies and other programming costs. Amendment to extend contract term to July 31, 2026. Grant personnel and programming are to end once grant funds are expended. No County funds are budgeted for any items not covered by this grant. Auditor's Office Action

Amendment to extend the IDCU Covid grant end date to July 31, 2026. No additional funds awarded with this amendment. Original grant review committee forms are attached.
