Attached for review is the revision of WIC contract funding for FY 2025 with Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling. The program is meant to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children, identified to be at nutritional risk. The WIC services are 100% funded by HHSC.

The funding amount for 10/1/2024 thru 09/30/2025 has been revised with an addition of $25,000 bringing the total amount of the FY 25 contract to $2,043,481.

I respectfully request review of the attached FY 2025 WIC funding for contract # HHS000801700001 with Health and Human Services.

Auditor's Office Action

WIC contract amendment to add $25,000 to the FY 2025 contract. This makes the new contract total $2,043,481 for the period October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025. The additional funds will pay for the salary and fringe of the 4 senior nutritionist positions. Once the funds allocated under the Registered Dietician and Lactation Services budget of the grant run out, the positions will continue to be funded with the General Admin Funding budget of the contract. Grant contract was originally reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached.
