Department Action

WIC would like to request approval to acquire sixteen Dell Laptop Computers from Health and Human Services for Women, Infant and Children (WIC). The laptop computers will replace all remaining Microsoft Surface Pro tablets currently in the WIC offices. These computers will serve to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children identified to be at nutritional risk.

Acquisition of these laptops will not incur any additional costs for WIC or IT as they will replace our current devices and current software licenses will be transferred. Required replacements can use WIC funds as they are 100% reimbursed by Health and Human Services. IT was consulted for this acquisition.

Purchasing Department Action

Health Care Foundation Board consideration and any action regarding the approval to acquire sixteen (16) Dell Laptop Computers from South Plains Community Action Association, Inc.; further authorize the Board President to execute certificate of acquisition. MC

IT has reviewed the request and is good with the recommendation.

Budget Department Action

Acquisition of sixteen (16) Dell laptop computers from South Plains Community Action Association, Inc. at no cost to the county. Current software licenses will be transferred to new devices. (2108)-HC Grants WIC Program.
