Department Action

The Sheriff's Office is respectfully requesting the court's approval to apply for the FY 2024 DHS Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program. This grant is a two-year program, beginning October 1, 2024 through and including September 30, 2026. No county match is required.

Request Commissioners Court Consideration and any action regading approval to apply for Department of Homeland Security Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention grant for $563,760.80 with no County match required. The grant period is October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026.

HR and/or IT Action

FY 2024 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant is noted to fund salary and benefits for two new positions including a Program Administrator and Research Specialist within the Sheriff’s Office from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026. The amount of this grant for personnel cost, $376,404.00, is sufficient to cover the estimated salary and fringe for the two positions at 100%. No county match is required.

Budget Department Action

FY 2024 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant in the amount of $563,760.80 in federal funds. Grant includes the addition of 2 new personnel along with needed training and supplies.
