Department Action
We are requesting to expand our existing SQL Server environment to support all COVID-19 related database applications.  The requested 48 SQL Server cores will become part of our standard enterprise SQL cluster. Purchasing has requested that we take this purchase to court to disclose we would like to utilize the discounted pricing per the existing contract for transparency, and stating the current vendor and coop contract.
 
We are requesting 24 annual SQL Server licenses (48 cores) from CARES funds until December 31, 2020.  We will need Commissioners Court to approve the balance.
 
Purchasing Department Action
Requesting Commissioners Court consideration and approval to purchase 24 Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Core Edition licenses (48 cores) in the amount of $12,146.39 each (for a total cost of $291,513.36) from SHI Government Solutions, Inc. through Texas DIR contract DIR-TSO-4092.  This will be an addition to our Microsoft Enterprise agreement as awarded in Contract 2019-045, Software, Microsoft EA.  The pricing established under the current contract (currently in year 2) will cover the license cost though November 30, 2021.  The cost will be covered using CARES ACT funds through December 31, 2020, with the remaining balance paid using County funds.

Requesting approval to purchase 24 Microspft SQL Server Enterprise Core Edition licenses (48 cores) in the amount of $291,513.36 through the Texas DIR contract DIR-TSO-4092.  Funding through December is requested to come out of the CARE Act funding and January through September is to be funded by Non Departmental.  Cares Act Funding (2127) and General Fund (0001).
Auditor's Office Action
Funds available in the Cares Act Fund through December 30, 2020, and the General Fund for the remainder of the time period through 2021.  Budget is anticipated to be approved for FY 2021.
