Department Action

The FY 2022 application is for level funding in the amount of $202,300. The amended grant contract begins September 1, 2021 and ends August 31, 2022. The county’s required match for this grant is $40,460 each year. The county’s match amount will be achieved through existing personnel time.

The state funds are meant to provide basic services and related activities for tuberculosis (TB) prevention and control. TB is a communicable disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB is spread from person to person through the air. When a person with pulmonary or laryngeal TB coughs, sneezes, speaks, or sings, droplet nuclei containing M. tuberculosis are expelled into the air. Depending on the environment, these tiny particles (1-5microns in diameter) can remain suspended in the air for several hours. If another person inhales air containing droplet nuclei, transmission may occur.

Grant funds will cover personnel, benefits, supplies, contractual services and other various program costs. Grant period is September 1, 2021 through August 31, 2022.
