Department Action

The Texas Department of Transportation has developed plans to make improvements to SH 5 from South of CR 275 to South of SH 121. As is always TxDOT’s policy, before they can start acquiring ROW, they are requiring Collin County provide 10% of the cost of the ROW and utility relocation. For this project that amounts to $500,815.90.

Recommended Action: It is requested that the Commissioners Court
1. Approve the attached agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation,
2. Authorize the County Judge to execute the agreement,
3. Authorize a budget adjustment to transfer $500,816 from project RI18016 to a new project set up by the Auditor, and;
4. Authorize payment of this amount when the agreement is fully executed and the funds have been transferred into the appropriate new account.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of an Agreement to Contribute Right of Way Funds (Fixed Price) for certain highway improvements on Highway No. 5 from South of CR 275 to South of SH 121 for right of way acquisition and reimbursable utility adjustments; further authorize the County Judge to execute same. MD

Collin County's 10% participation is a NTE $500,815.90
