Department Action

I am requesting Commissioners Court accept the District Attorney Testing of Forensic Evidence Grant FY2023. I was notified, on Friday, October 7, 2022, that this grant application was accepted in the full amount requested. The grant period runs from September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2023. This grant will be used to fund quantitative THC testing for seized cannabis samples, which was required in FY2019 by the Legislature under HB 1325. This grant will also allow testing of multiple controlled substances for high-level offenders.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval to accept the Office of the Governor (OOG) grant for District Attorney Testing of Forensic Evidence for $145,960 with no County match required. The grant period is September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2023. gz
