Respectfully requesting Commissioners Court approval to purchase Aspis Z, Level III bullet-resistant shields. The shields will be purchased with the funds awarded from the Bullet-Resistant Shield Grant through the Office of the Governor, per attached documentation. The Aspis Z, Level III ballistic shield is rifle rated, unlike the Phalanx Level IIIa ballistic shield that is on contract, which is only pistol rated.
