Department Action

In order to offer a competitive salary for our entry-level Misdemeanor Prosecutor Positions (currently in the bottom 20% of court-approved comparison counties), and with the understanding that this Court will raise their pay to at least the 50% level of comparison counties, I request approval to supplement the salary of each of these 10 positions at the annual rate of $6,000. This supplement would be for the remaining six months of FY2023 or $3,000, and effective on March 20, 2023.

I am including the required affidavits and other documents for the six positions that are currently filled. The effected positions numbers are as follows: 00300269, 00300270, 201248, 201253, 201243, 201244, 201251, 201249, 201252, and 201250.

These supplement will be paid out of the District Attorney State Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund. (Fund 1037) Increases in salaries for an employee of the attorney representing the state who is budgeted by the commissioners court is an allowable expense under Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 59.06(d-1)(7) if approved by this court.
