Collin County Outer Loop from Preston Road (SH 289) to Custer Road (FM 2478) has been completed and a final change order is needed to reconcile the quantities that were actually used compared to those that were estimated in the original contract. Attached is a letter from our design and construction management engineering consulting firm, Jacobs Engineering, which lists additions to the project, revised quantities of bid items and the project quantities that underran and overran. The net amount is an increase of $438,111.59.
The contractor met the substantial completion time requirements of the contract and the road was open to traffic on October 2022. Additional signage was added after the road was open to the public and a correction to plan quantities for hot mix asphalt and concrete pavement was needed. The Engineering staff agrees with Jacob’s recommendation of Change Order No. 5 to reconcile the quantities.
Funds are available in RI18OL002, however we would like to sweep the funds ($259,847.59) from RI07095 to cover a portion of the change order. A BA is needed to move 07 funds to 18 funds and new project codes will be created.
Recommended Action: It is requested that the Commissioners Court
-approve Change Order No. 5, increasing the Outer Loop Access Road Project (Limits from Preston Road (SH 289) to Custer Road (FM 2478) contract by $438,111.59, for a final total of $13,800,156.36.
-authorize the auditor to transfer
