Department Action

The Engineering Department requests approval of reimbursement to a property owner along the limits of the Park Blvd Project for a septic spray head design and relocation. During ROW acquisition back in 2012, when a parcel was appraised, the septic spray head was not accounted for since it was outside of the ROW. The location of the spray head is not the issue; however, the radius of the septic spray is currently spraying within the Park Blvd Project limits. The spray head needs to be moved in order to keep the septic spray off of the future Park Blvd pavement.

The cost of the design is $350 and the cost to relocate the spray head and lines is $2,244. The property owner did request a small change in the location of the spray head and has agreed to pay for 25% of the cost to relocate.

The Engineering Department requests that the County reimburse the full cost of the design ($350) and 75% of the cost to relocate ($1683). The total reimbursement to the property owner is $2,033. Funds are available in the Park Blvd construction account.

Recommended Action: It is requested that the Commissioners Court authorize the County Judge to execute any documents required for the reimbursement to a property owner along the Park Blvd Project limits for the design and relocation costs of a septic spray head in the amount of $2,033.
