Department Action

Collin County Municipal Utility District No. 1 (MUD) has requested that Collin County extend traffic regulations on Light Farms Way, a thoroughfare within the MUD, via an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement (ICA). The MUD has submitted the ICA along with a speed study produced by a qualified consultant and paid for by the MUD, to set the speed limit to 35 mph for the entire length of Light Farms Way.

Collin County’s attorney has reviewed the ICA and Collin County’s Engineering Department has reviewed the speed study and finds the recommendation acceptable. A proposed Court Order has been prepared by the County’s attorney for the approval of the ICA and speed study.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: It is recommended that the Commissioners Court approve the attached Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the Collin County Municipal Utility District No. 1 to extend traffic regulations on Light Farms Way and authorize the County Judge to execute the agreement and set the speed limit on Light Farms Way to 35 mph based on the attached speed study.
